It shouldn't as come as a surprise to anyone that this year's September Celebrations, will definitely be with a lowercase "c" - because that "C" can also stand for COVID - which is all over this country, so social grouping is discouraged.
But, to try and capture some of the magic of September's patriotic traditions, the National Celebrations Commission has organized a safe calendar of events. The guiding principle for these decisions is that whatever events are held cannot put Belizeans at risk of being exposed to the coronavirus.
This afternoon, the co-chair of the National Celebrations Commission held a virtual press conference to launch their calendar of events. It's not an exhaustive list because the Commission is making allowances for municipal governments to add their own September events. But the co-chair wanted to give you a peek at what is going to happen.
Here's how she explained that a significant portion of the events will take place virtually:

The first big event on the calendar is the official launch of the September Celebrations, which will take place on the evening of September 6th.
