A Conejo Christmas

Conejo village, a Mayan buffer community of the Sarstoon Temash National Park received a generous donation of holiday baskets from SATIIM.

The gesture of goodwill and holiday cheer comes from the organization known as "Rax Mu Qiche" - a sustainable forestry business that is run by and for Conejo. Unlike other forestry businesses, this model combines Maya customary values and traditional resources management with sound business practices. Rax Mu Qiche has been working with SATIIM to perfect the business model for indigenous community forestry.
