And from sales to social justice, Channel 7's Sunup hosts got a real lesson in the power of art this morning when they sat down for a couch conversation with Belizean-American artist Cadex Herrera.
You may remember Cadex as the Belizean artist who back in 2020 collaborated on the iconic George Floyd mural in the immediate aftermath of his death.
What's perhaps less known is that Herrera was also angered and inspired to create a portrait of Laddie Gillett, the boy who became Belize's own symbol against police brutality.
And this morning as he showed the piece in our studio he told us about the power of art and how a portrait can become a call to action.
Herrera plans to make a gift of the portrait to Laddie Gillett's adoptive parents.
