And finally, tonight, Belizean artists TR Shine and Pupa Curly have collaborated on a new song, about the realities of politics in Belize. It's called "Not A Part A Yo Party" and it boldly declares to both political parties that "they ain't it." Today the two artists stopped by our studio and told us more about the song which they hope people heed tis message:
TR Shine, Artist
"Total Belize listen to this reality, this is a part of me they don't get a lot because they expect Soca and all of that but I actually start with this type of music long time ago so this is the realest me you could get."
"It was Pupa Curly who actually sent the riddim so that was a great opportunity for me to actually be a part of the Democracy Riddim but we ended up changing it but the inspiration came with the reality of what we're facing, the reality of politics in Belize and how the people are living by it and the realities of what we face."
"To be with a legend like Mr Pupa Curly, this is phenomenal, I mean he is not now, he is before we, man like that pave the road for us, so this is a great opportunity for me especially, music like this being realised through Tuff Kruffy and you know this is big so it's reality as well."
Pupa Curly, Artist
"Not a part of your party, reality, TR stand for True Reality and that's exactly what the song is about. It is actually TR Shine's song with a little bit of Pupa Curly Supporting and glad to be on that track released on Tuff Kruffy Entertainment Label, distributing through Tuff Gang International of course you know that's Bob Marley's sons and kids distribution company and I'm glad to be part of it."
"Automatically, that's my life, from day one, crack is a killer, you must wake up, this dah fi we, we dah fi ya, no bother give we to no Guatemala, I mean all those songs are straight reality songs and that's where it came out of, by all means I want to stay along that lines and it's always important for me to be on those types of songs."
"Wake up, wake up, use your own mind and vote your true conscience and things about you when election time come, not simply just ride, what I would call, the ganging politics, red or blue, that's me, that's what I say."
it's available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and any other music streaming service.
