Queen Elizabeth has passed on, and our head of state is King Charles the third. But, the distance between Buckingham and Belmopan can be chasmic, and that's why the Queen's Honors - the very last one - which were announced in December, were just handed over in an investiture ceremony today. The Governor General gave some context in her brief remarks:
Major Respect to Dara Robinson for being the first person to get an MBE in a Lucky Dube t-shirt.
The other recipients of OBE's are Ms. Florencia Castillo, for contribution to the community, Dr. Marcelo Coyi, for contribution to the medical profession and the community, Elena Smith, for contribution to education and unionism.
OBE honors were given to Justice Michelle Arana, for contribution to the field of law and public service, and Gordon Roe, for contribution to entrepreneurship and the community.
And. The day's highest honor Commander of the British Empire was conferred upon Sean Feinstein, for service in Entrepreneurship and to the Community. The Fienstein's have been royally favored this year; his father Ralph was knighted by Prince William in March.
