This morning the Lifeline Foundation donated $15,000 to feeding programs at three primary schools in Belize City. St. John’s Vianney, St. Martin’s De Porres, and Salvation Primary Schools each received $5,000. They received checks from Lifeline Foundation Director Kim Simplis-Barrow at the Radisson. She told us why they care.

Kim Simplis-Barrow, Director – Lifeline
“We go through a process where they request donations from us for their feeding programs. We’re getting a lot of requests from feeding programs and this year most of the applicants or I think all the applicants that requested feeding programs needs, we were able to make the donations to those schools and so I am really happy about that.

Kids are the future of Belize and I know it is said a lot but it is really important especially now for us to continue focusing on children and not give up on these kids. It doesn’t matter what their social backgrounds are, they need to be given a chance, they need that equal opportunity that we can provide and even if it is just that small little thing that we can do, Lifeline Foundation can do which is through the feeding program, I think it is important and it will help them.”

The feeding programs feed about one hundred students at each primary school. The Lifeline Foundation will hold its charity Brazilian themed night on November 6th at the House of Culture.
