The Belize National Teachers Union is putting together its position on the ninth amendment. It has had a national forum and branches are now putting together their positions.

Today the Belize District held its First General meeting for the new school year where the membership elected officers, and discussed matters of concern.

One of those matters is the ninth and the newly re-elected president Kathleen Flowers told us how they will go forward with that:

Kathleen Flowers - President, BNTU

"To a certain extent we have discussed it. We just did a preliminary look at what we did in Belmopan - quickly reviewing that. And then we had our members voting. Then, we will look at the poll results just before we conclude this meeting, so that our branch can hand in a position to the national executive, who will then make a national position after that at the very first council meeting."

At newstime, we were unable to reach President Flowers for the results of that poll.
