Over the past couple of weeks, we've told you about the government's indication that they may be considering seismic testing in order to discover what lies deep in our waters, with the hope of being able to use that information for financial leveraging purposes.

OCEANA is crying foul, but the usually pro PUP Belize Business Bureau agrees with the plan. In a press release they say, quote, "Seismic testing will provide scientific data which can let us know what exactly that part of our national wealth is. This data can also help us to negotiate a better compensation should we decide to obtain carbon credits or any return for not exploiting such resources." End quote.
