The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise has teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme to provide simple assistance to 700 small farmers who suffered losses in Hurricane Lisa.

Lisa affected 93 rural communities, damaging commodities such as vegetables, fruit trees, sugarcane, grains, and livestock, as well as agricultural infrastructure.

Now, affected farmers will get digital vouchers to make direct purchases to assist in their recovery. The Minister explained more at the launch yesterday:

The Government of Italy and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints funded this programme.
