And while Burgos remains shaken, he's gotten busy making sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. He told us he is doing the job no one else wants to do - recovering the bombs from other private owners who also wrongly think that they are inert:
Dave Burgos, Owned Business/Residence Where Bomb Exploded
"As we speak we have these things all over the place, yesterday we went to pick up one form the the police station - not one that is ours, no one, no one in his right mind want to pick them up, not even the BDF want to get close to it. But we are there picking them up and we have sent them to Baldy Beacon today. We are picking up 2 more in the Trial Farm vicinity. Right now as we speak my equipment is out there picking them up and tomorrow or this afternoon 2 more should come from Shipyard. And so this brings an awareness that the British leaves these things all over the place and speaking to the commandant there are over 100 on the new river."

"And then I came to understand these things can't be deactivated there's no way they can be deactivated, - there is no way they can be deactivated after I started to look at them and the way we are dealing with it that it can explode so they cannot be deactivated they can't be deactivated."
"I'm telling you as is they are out there they are very dangerous and I will use the word the BDF told me, Dave it is a ticking bomb, it is out there that is what his words are and that is why today I am helping and nobody wants to. I can understand why but we are helping so that these things can be moved away from Orange Walk. They are right in Orange Walk town in the Trial Farm area."
Those who have explosives and want the BDF to recover them can call the WATCH KEEPER hotline at 610-6037.
