Something stinks and callers to 7NEWS today said the stench was cause by decomposing bodies at the KHMH's morgue. Family members told us the hospital did not inform them that the morgue wasn't working and the bodies of their loved ones were left to rot. Those bodies we are told include the three who died Saturday morning in the double murder-suicide. Another family told 7NEWS this evening that they had to bury an elder family member who died of natural causes in a rush this evening after his decaying body was handed over to them. Public Relations Officer for the KHMH Gary Ayuso told 7NEWS their main morgue is out of service but there is a fully operational backup cooling at a temperature of 30 degrees which is near to freezing. Ayuso says the post mortems were conducted in a room without air conditioning and that may have caused the stench.
