SSB Expands NHI Coverage for Senior Citizens

The programme has cut back on coverage over the past year and a half and failed to roll out as promised, but policy makers behind NHI are extending the net for senior citizens included in the plan. Social Security, which funds NHI, today announced that effective October the first, almost two months ago, elderly persons in the southside of Belize do not have to make co-payments for pharmaceuticals. Who are elderly persons? In this case it's NHI users who are older than 65.
