The Belize City Hospital was built back in 1820, at the time it was housed on Eve Street. 11 years ago the then Belize City Hospital was relocated to Princess Margaret Drive and it got a new name, Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Today marks the day when 11 years ago the KHMH opened its doors to the public and to commemorate that personnel at the institution pulled out the hospital's wear-it-all to show the public how the country's premier health care provider operates.

Dr. Alvaro Rosado, KHMH - CEO
"We are out here now to celebrate the eleventh anniversary of KHMH and to try to inform the public as to services we offer, how to access the services, and in general to try to indicate to the public that this is their hospital.

KHMH has to go on a public campaign, not only to inform the public of what we offer but how to access the service. KHMH has to get out there to try to work with people so that our resources are you to the best possible use."
