Those of you who’ve been following the case of 4 year old Tarrell Sutherland on this newscast will be happy to know that he came out of surgery successfully last night and is recovering without incident.

As we’d reported he went back to Texas at the end of March for a surgical procedure. But at the time, his skin condition known as icthyosis was also worsening and his foot had erupted with infection. Well that was remedied with what are called hydro therapy treatments at Dell's Children Hospital, and soon after he was back on his feet – feeling well enough to take part in an Easter egg hunt.

That was also to prepare him for a surgery where doctors had to minimize the risk of infection. The surgery started at 3:00 yesterday afternoon and doctors have informed his mother that the surgery was a big success. He is on track for recovery and we’ll keep following his progress.
