There's some good and not so good news tonight about Steven Buckley, the man shot by Police last week Wednesday during a police stop and search. The news is that Commissioner of Police, Crispin Jeffries has spoken directly with the family and committed to offer his department's assistance in meeting the rising medical costs associated with Buckley's hospitalization.

According to Police press officer, Fitzroy Yearwood, the Police will sign an agreement tomorrow with the Buckley family formalizing their assistance in black and white. And while that can be interpreted as some good news for the family, the not so good news coming out of the KHMH today is that Steven Buckley is still critical, and he needs blood right away. The sisters of Buckley stopped by our studios today to make an appeal for blood donations and give us an update on his condition.

Jim McFadzean Reporting
"The Commissioner of Police met with the family. What did he have to tell the family?"

Julie Thurton, Sister of Steve Buckley
"Well he said that he was gonna communicate by getting blood, try paying off the recent bills we have right about now. And so far, we haven't reached nowhere as yet."

Jim McFadzean
"What type of blood is needed for your brother?"

Sherline Medwood, Sister of Steve Buckley

"Well the type of blood that he needs is O and A negative. And so far, we haven't get none as yet. From last week, the nurses are asking us if we haven't received any. So we tell them we haven't received any as yet."

Jim McFadzean
"And you mentioned something about the BDF. Has the BDF offered to donate blood?"

Sherline Medwood, Sister of Steve Buckley
"Well when one of the high men from the Police went there, they said that they will check with the BDF and the Police but so far no one has shown up as yet. And right now he really needs it. It's 5 pints that he needs."

Jim McFadzean
"What has been the latest from the doctor about your brother's condition?"

Sherline Medwood, Sister of Steve Buckley
"The doctor wasn't there as yet when we left there this afternoon so the condition that we see him in is that he shows more improvements but I don't know if it's for better or worse. So I can't really tell you because right now the right part, which they said was going to be paralysed, he's moving it a little bit so we're not sure but the right eye is damaged. And he needs to see an eye specialist."

Once again if you would like to assist the Buckley family, the hospital is in need of Blood Type ‘O' Negative and "A" Negative.
