A post mortem was conducted today on 28 year old Colin Lord - who died on Friday July 16th., one month after being shot in the head.

It found that he died of heart thrombosis, basically a blood clot in the heart, and acute pulmonary edema - basically fluid in the lungs.

His family today told us that when he was re-admitted to the KHMH last week, he already had a lung infection and it got worse because he was receiving an inadequate oxygen supply.

We should note that there are medical suspicions that Lord had somehow contracted hepatitis which may have contributed to his demise - but further tests will have to be done to confirm that.

As you heard his father Albert Leslie say on this newscast last night, the family is bitterly upset with Belize Healthcare Partners Hospital who he says kicked his son out of the hospital because the family could not keep up with his mounting medical costs - and that's after they put down fifteen thousand dollars.

Today the Public Relations officer for Healthcare Partners Collet Montejo told us that Colin Lord was not kicked out of the hospital; he says Lord was sent home after the doctors had given the o-k for his release.

He says the family was allowed to run up a bill, a substantial portion of which Montejo says is still outstanding. Montejo told us he would be seeking a meeting with the family to iron things out.
