Dr. George Goff, the last CEO in the Ministry of Health under the UDP, also took a turn at the head table. One of the first topics he brought up was reports that there is a shortage of important COVID medications for public health facilities.
Dr. George Goff - Medical Professional
"Where key life-saving medications like anti-rivals, monoclonal medication, the public sector are not accessing it at this time for whatever financial prioritization they're giving to that ministry. Why am I calling this out? [It's] because they are finding monies to buy other things that are not in healthcare, and yet, the key lifesaving medications that they should be buying for the public, that are becoming ill, they are not buying. Thus, these patients have not been given a fighting chance. I call this out because I think the Ministry of Health should be procuring these lifesaving medications, obviously not through middle people, but directly from the source, which would then be more sustainable and affordable to be given to the populace that requires it."
