Today's Cabinet brief says that COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 5 to 11 years will soon be available. The Ministry of Health and Wellness is working closely with the Ministry of Education to safely deliver the vaccines to students in time for the new school year. The Ministry of Health and Wellness also encourages Belizeans who are 60 years or older and those with pre-existing conditions to get their second booster shot - preferably before the end of the month because the Pfizer vaccines are expiring.
Cabinet also recommended that the Attorney General introduce a bill at the next sitting of the House of Representatives to restructure the Administration of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. It will include amendments to restructure the court's administration by making the Chief Justice the administrative leader of both the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal, while retaining the post of President of the Court of Appeal, subject administrative to the office of the Chief Justice.
Also, the Supreme Court will be renamed the High Court.
