Prime Minister Said Musa has left his brewing problems on the domestic front behind for 5 days of diplomatic bliss in Guatemala City and New York.

Yesterday PM Musa joined leaders of Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, and the Domincan Republic along with Brazil's President Ignacio Lula for a SICA Summit. Ahead of this week's United Nations General Assembly, President Lula will lobby the regions' leaders for their support in Brazil's bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

And while it was done last year by Former Ambassador Stuart Leslie, Prime Minister Musa will arrive in New York City in time to address the 60th UN General Assembly on Thursday. Musa is expected to give a report card on Belize's implementation of the Millennium Development Goals.

Before leaving New York, Musa will meet with Belizean-Americans on Friday in Brooklyn. He returns on Saturday.
