Ashley Comes to America

Belize's migrant child, is a migrant no more.

It's been a few weeks since we brought you the story of 12-year-old Ashley Henriquez, a courageous little girl who braved a through-the-back journey to the United States in the hopes of being reunited with a father that she hadn't seen in over a decade.

She got in as an unaccompanied migrant - and after a few weeks in social services, she was released into the care of her father.

And tonight we can tell you that Ashley has made it.

We got the proof in a Facebook post made by her sister Astrid. It shows Ashley standing on her Dallas Texas lawn star-shaped balloons in hand, happily celebrating her arrival stateside.
