On Saturday morning when the royal jet touches down at the P.G.I.A., it will mark the start of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first official tour of Belize.
The tour which kickstarts a wider Caribbean visit is ostensibly in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee but it is also meant to serve as a "charm offensive," in the Commonwealth realms of Belize, Jamaica, and the Bahamas, especially following the decision made by Barbados to become a republic.
But we wanted to know what the royal visit may mean to the average Belizean this time around and whether the streets even know the faces behind the titles of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Cherisse Halsall went to the busiest pedestrian thoroughfare in Belize city: Mahogany Street:
As we've told you the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will arrive in Belize on Saturday, March 19th, and depart on Tuesday, March 22nd.
