As we told you last night - the United Nations General Assembly is in session - and as it finished today - the consensus position from the 190 world leaders and foreign ministers who spoke is that nations are witnessing the dawn of some new era characterized by "complex challenges, multilayered crises, and changing priorities." One major aspect of that is the social desperation that drives migrants ever northward. And, Belize has been witnessing that recently with dozens of Cuban immigrants intercepted on land and sea.

Tonight there are 15 more - again intercepted by the Mobile Interdiction Team out west, except these ones are four Hondurans, 3 Salvadorans, and 7 Nicaraguans. The 6 males and 5 females are accompanied by 4 minors.

The MIT caught them before dawn crossing the Mopan River in the area of Paslow Falls, trying to escape the police checkpoint at Bullett Tree

As is standard, they will be transferred to the custody of the Immigration Department which is expected to charge them for illegal entry.
