Home Affairs Minister Hon. Ralph Fonseca this afternoon received a $379,464 cheque from Taiwan's Ambassador to Belize H.E. Charles Tsai.
The money will be used as Belize's contribution to the development of a Central American regional stolen car database. This afternoon's handing over (seen here on this video courtesy the Government Press Office) took place at the Central Bank with Home Affairs CEO Allan Usher looking on.
It's an important show for the Home Affairs Ministry as the US has publicly frowned on the government's past performance in the area of stolen cars, when it openly refused to move on vehicles of well connected party friends who were flossing in stolen rides.
