Like those 10,000 homes, we thought that government's 30,000 house lots promised in the last election was just one of those mythical figures thrown around at election time to swell the ballot boxes in that blue hue.

But the Musa cabinet says it's serious about this promise. Yesterday in Belmopan cabinet decided to make available 30,000 house lots for first time homeowners. But don't go the lands department just yet though because a cabinet release says cabinet has appointed a sub-committee to make recommendations for a financial plan based on cost recovery for the acquisition and distribution of the house lots which means they've got to find out how they can afford to turn this election trick in lean times.
