When it was announced that the cruise bus road system would be named Javier Berbey Garcia boulevard, the proposal was met with widespread disapproval. Many complained that Berbey Garcia was not a Belizean, and that, whatever his contribution may have been, it was not as great as those made by Belizeans. Well it seems that complaint has been heard in city hall. On Tuesday, the council moved and approved a resolution to formally name the new road, "Marine parade boulevard." Berbey garcia will still get his props though as the easterly round about will be dedicated to the developer. Why such props for the Panamanian who made Belize his home? Well, he came up with the idea to develop the boulevard and its amenities.
