And while his little brother defends dubious public projects, big brother Ralph Fonseca was today taking a downtown spree on a new ATV, or all terrain vehicle. Looking like a young man fascinated with a sparkling new toy, the minister of home affairs took a few spins around the Queen Street Station as he accepted a donation of three motorcycles from the government of Taiwan. Fonseca told us That he's grateful to the ROC, for the 125 cc cycle:

Jules Vasquez
"Are we to take it Minister Fonseca that you are so unencumbered since divesting yourself of the ministry of finance that you have time now to drive around motor cycles?"

Hon. Ralph Fonseca
(Laughs) "Good, you see, I was trying to have a good time with you and you are trying to take advantage of it. No, I was just trying to demonstrate how important it is, our relationship between the Republic of China on Taiwan and Belize that I should be present here myself today to receive these vehicles."

Jose Carmen Zetina – Commissioner of Police
"The four wheel vehicle will be assigned to San Pedro and the other two to community policing."

Jules Vasquez
"In terms of, one has the feeling that when these vehicles go out, they, because of the hard work that the police do they can only work for so long so the effort is not sustained. Is that sort of ATV upgrade something that you would want to do permanently for the police department?"

Jose Carmen Zetina
"Oh yes, that's the ideal vehicle that can be used especially in a place like San Pedro you know. I think that it has set the pace for acquisition of similar vehicles."

In total there are two scooters and one ATV. Made in Taiwan, these models are expected to be offered in Belize shortly.
