BEL Restores Power to 50% of Corozal Town

Tonight Belize Electricity Limited expects to have restored power to 50% of Corozal Town. The town has been without power since Hurricane Dean on Monday night. Since then, ten crews, like the ones seen here, have been working in the town and BEL says it has re-connected essential services such as the Corozal Town Hospital, Belize Water Services, and BTL. In the Orange Walk District, power has been restored to the entire town and to 31 out of the 33 surrounding villages. Service to San Pedro has also been restored with the exception of the north end of the island.
