But while that may be the sentiment of some - at the official level - the Duke and Duchess should not expect to hear that kind of talk.
Up there, it's all peaches and cream. The state rolled out the red carpet for their royal guests - as expected - and the PM said that, more than just cordial, the exchanges were friendly:

Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Certainly, it was a pleasure to be able to meet both Prince William and his wife Kate. We had a wonderful time. We met along with my wife on Saturday and I was told the meeting should have been a maximum of 20 minutes and it went on to over 40 minutes, we were talking about our children, they were asking me about football when I was a goal keeper and then also on some issues on environment, climate change, my exchange with his father Prince Charles at COP26, so it was very a pleasant discussion, light, but also hitting the right topics. I am so happy that he decided to come to Belize. We have gotten extensive coverage and for people to see how beautiful this small but compact country is, the people and the environment that we have been blessed with."
Hon. Eamon Courtenay, Minister of Foreign Affairs
"I think it was a very successful visit by the Duke and Duchess, they came to celebrate and to share with the Belizean people and to mark, in fact the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of her magistrate Queen Elizabeth being on the throne and I think it was a tremendous success. They met the Belizean people, they saw our culture, they enjoyed our food, they enjoyed the natural beauty both on land and sea and in speaking to the Prince and to the Duchess, they both said that they love Belize very much and would want to return, so I think from a goodwill point of view, it was a tremendous success."
