You may be making your last-minute preparations for the Christmas Holiday weekend, but the Police Commissioner is putting everyone on notice that they will be strictly enforcing the intoxicating liquor licenses laws. So, if you want to enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage, it's best that you purchase it before Christmas Eve or at least before the closing date of 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve night.

In a memo dated December 20, 2022, the ComPol reminds his commanders that they are to ensure that all businesses respect the specific class of liquor licenses they are in possession of. It has club and bar owners up in arms because they have to shut down early.

Today, we asked the ComPol about that enforcement initiative, and he made the point that he and the police aren't attempting to behave like the Grinch who stole the Christmas Liquor. Here is how he made that case this morning:
