And while cleaning the drains is one thing, the pumping station is another major component of adequate water runoff.
The mayor told us that they have also ensured that the pumping station is well and working. He says that the city council has assumed full responsibility for the facility as of last week.

"That pumping station is functioning pretty well and it was handed over to us at the City Council I believe just last week by the ministry of infrastructure. So we are in full charge of the pumping station now. We have our personnel stationed there. We are in charge of security and all the other areas that go along with that pumping station so along with that pumping station, along with the efforts on the ground we are suppose to be in a much better position going forward in respect to rains and hurricanes."
