Christmas is here but government's Car Czar Ashton Longsworth is playing scrooge to all those hoping to push a blue plate past Santa's gate.

A directive from the Assets and Utilities Management Unit, dated today, orders that all non-emergency government vehicles should be parked and secured for the Christmas holidays.

It requires vehicles to be in their designated or secure locations by tomorrow, Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m. and they must remain parked until Monday, December 29.

Emergency vehicles are exempt, allowing police, health, and other essential services to continue operating. The ministry emphasized that the vehicle shutdown protocol will be activated promptly at 5:00 p.m., and all operators are responsible for ensuring their assigned vehicles are properly parked and secured at that time.
