It's one of the most controversial pieces of legislation in recent recall, and now the Petroleum Haulers Act is under being challenged in the Supreme Court.
A group of haulers who've been largely kept out of the haulers' association, have hired Dean Barrow to challenge the act in the Supreme Court. Barrow will argue that the law violates his clients' freedom of association as guaranteed by the constitution. Arguing the case across from him will be the Haulers' association's attorney Lois Young-Barrow, who was today joined in the action along with the attorney general.
Dean Barrow hopes that when he proves the law illegal, it will allow his clients a group of 4 truckers to operate freely, without first seeking the permission of haulers' association president Joe Briceno.
