As we showed you, Zenaida Moya and her candidates took over City Hall in Belize City. That's happening at town halls across the country. Our affiliates at the Northern Cable Network got an inside look at the process in Orange Walk yesterday as Ravell Gonzalez and his UDP slate unofficially took control of the town hall.
Alfonso Noble Reporting
With a throng of UDP supporters looking on the mayor elect in Orange Walk Town Ravel Gonzalez along with his councilors strode into his new offices. The first order of business was getting a cup of coffee complete with creamer. Then the keys to the city were literally handed over to him. Next it was down to business when the paper shuffling began and the files were opened.
Ravel Gonzalez, Mayor Elect
"We have a lot of things to straighten out in the town hall and from there we'll what work has to done."
But even as the work is now just beginning for this mayor he had time to take to the town hall's balcony and give his supporters the grand wave of victory.
Officially swearing in ceremonies for the Orange Walk UDP town council will take place on Monday afternoon.
