And it's fire and brimstone that Mayor Moya sent to councilor Mark King yesterday. 7NEWS has obtained a letter dated July 10th where the Mayor refers to King's repeated absence from council meetings and threatens to declare his seat on the council vacant because he missed four consecutive meetings. But today, 24 hours after she sent that letter, Mayor Moya says the beef between her and King has been squashed; she says they have reached an understanding.

Jules Vasquez,
Mayor what is the situation between yourself and Councilor Mark King? What is that relationship like?

Zenaida Moya,
"Well we try to do our best to work together."

Jules Vasquez,
I have received a letter, and we've spoken about it, that you've sent to him indicating continuing absences etc. You told me a while ago that letter is null and void, that matter has been resolved. Is that the case, can you say that publicly on the record?

Zenaida Moya,
"Yes I can say that publicly. That letter, we have already discussed it and that letter is null and void."

Jules Vasquez,
So will councilor King be attending meetings in the future, is that your expectation?

Zenaida Moya,
"He has already spoken to me and he has already indicated that he will in fact ensure that he attends all council meetings in the future. If he doesn't he will ensure that he gives me a call."

Jules Vasquez,
Six of your senior managers resigned en masse. If this had happened with the Prime Minister and his CEOs, we would have a governance crisis. Also you were, up to July 10th you sent councilor Mark King a letter. Is this City Council in trouble?

Zenaida Moya,
"No. This City Council is definitely not in trouble. I personally feel that this council is a very strong council. I think if we were not working, I think you wouldn't even hear about us on the news. If we were not working, you would have no reason to come and interview me; no reason at all."

As Moya noted, the council will meet tomorrow to hammer out the differences between management and councilors.
