Charles and Hirian Goode are tonight still unemployed but it is by choice. As we reported on Friday, retired Captain Good and his wife were supposed to report to the Housing and Planning Department this morning. They did so at 8 am but walked out a short while later.
Goode told us this evening that the offer was fine and so was the treatment they received from the Housing and Planning Department. Good says they however rejected the offer on principle. He says they are dissatisfied with the manner in which Education Minister Patrick Faber behaved. Good however says they don’t want an apology - he says they will now pursue their legal options.
The Goods began protesting shortly after Hirian Goode was fired from her job as a school warden at Trinity Methodist School. Their protest got the attention of both the Prime Minister Dean Barrow and Housing Minister Michael Finnegan. Finnegan offered both Charles and Hirian Good a job at the same salary she was receiving as a school warden.
