Last night we told you about a Monday meeting between Mayor Zenaida Moya and Prime Minister Dean Barrow. The PM didn’t at all characterize it as conciliatory but he told us the matter of the party’s disciplinary proceedings was raised. But he says he told her, to take it up not with him, but with the party.

Well, today there was a subtle suggestion that something along that line vein may be afoot because a hearing that was supposed to be held in the Supreme Court for Moya’s lawsuit against the UDP was suddenly adjourned. Up to yesterday when we checked it was still on, but today, no one showed up in court.

It’s been adjourned to December 12th. The important aspect of that is that until that hearing in a month’s time, all disciplinary action against Mayor Moya is put on hold. That was the undertaking of the UDP lead attorney Michael Young given at the last hearing, that it is now held for at least another month, seems to give Mayor Moya the slight upper hand, because until that undertaking was given, the move to discipline her was proceeding full speed ahead. We’ll keep monitoring it.
