Last night on this newscast you saw PUP Deputy Leader Mark Espat call on the chair of the Finance and Economic Development Committee, John Saldivar asking him to convene a meeting of the Committee to examine the petroleum industry – focussing on the question of whether the Government is receiving its rightful share of gross petroleum revenues.

Well, it not going to happen at least not tight now. Last night, Saldivar told us that first he hadn’t seen any letter form Espat and the first he learned of it was on this newscast. Second, he said that at this point the matter is in the hands of the professionals as an audit is being conducted. He said he is anxiously awaiting the outcome of that audit and when it is completed, Government will review its options.
