And so, from the sound of it, government will have another case to contend with in court. But, help is on the way. Presently, all of government's big cases - and there are volumes of them - are argued by Senior Counsel Lois Young - but according to the Prime Minister, when his brother Denys leaves the Court Of Appeal at the end of the month - he will also be retained to take on government cases.
Dean Barrow, Prime Minister of Belize
"There are a number of cases that are currently before the courts, all involving Michael Ashcroft. I certainly need to retain his services to assist with the presentation of those cases in the Supreme Court, in the Court of Appeals. I expect that one case - in fact more than one - every case with this man will clearly go ultimately to the CCJ. He will never be satisfied if he loses, we will never be satisfied if we lose. I certainly intend to press my brother into service on a professional basis to assist the government with this litigation."
PM Barrow says he has already had preliminary discussions with his brother Denys.
