And while the Belizeans for Justice were in court today, they were also on the frontline of another conflict. As we showed you earlier, the BFJ has been enlisted by the squatters in the Faber's Road area to assist them in holding unto the lands they have cleared and re building on.
At this point, there's no clear strategy, but Yolanda Schackron told Monica Bodden why her group joined in:…

"I saw that a lot of these people have live back here for 5 years, they have children out here; they came from school and they can't get into their homes. I understand that an order came from the ministry of lands that they have to be remove but come on this is so inhumane, these people don't have anywhere to go there are babies out here; there are children out here, where are these people going to spend the night. The sandflies out here; it's crazy, these are people, these are children out here."
As we said, the squatters have gone back unto the land this evening - and we'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings….
