On Last night's news we shorted you just a little. Yes the newscast was 80 plus minutes long, but we left out one interview excerpt. That was the Prime Minister's clear position on the 14.9 million dollars Nature Fresh investment recommended by the social security investment committee.

Here's what he had to say about it:..

"We accept that the decision of the investment committee and the sort of preliminary decision of the board were decisions arrive at in good faith and both the investment committee and the board have access to far more material than we have but it is just as clear that the people of this country do not agree with that loan and we think that is what really ought to determine the matter. We believe that the board members will recognize that ultimately this is the people's money and while it is not scientific if you get a clear sense - an overwhelming sense that the people who own the money do not agree with the particular loan - we think that there will be happy to defer to the people."

Chairman of the Social Security Board Lois Young has refused to comment on any matter related to the Nature Fresh Investment - which as the PM indicated has received initial approval from the Board Of Directors…
