Minister Saldivar also had to sit in as chair for last night's Consultation on the 9th Amendment because Chairman Patrick Faber is dealing with the death of his brother.

It was held last night at the sports complex in Punta Gorda Town and according to the clerk of the National Assembly Eddie Webster, the meeting started at ten to seven and went until 10:30 pm.

He says there were 203 people who queued up to express their opinion on the amendment, and reports that 130 were in favour and 73 against.

Chairman Saldivar told us that it did not get out of order like the one in Dangriga:..

Hon. John Saldivar

"We allowed about two and a half hours of input that included commentary and at about 10 o'clock we cut it off to simply giving your name and telling us your position. We ended up hearing from I believe over 200 presenters of which according to our count 130 odd were in favor and 70 against the amendment."

The next consultation will be held in a week's time in Santa Elena, Cayo.
