So, Is the ghost of Gaspar Vega, as former Minister of Natural Resources still haunting the UDP less than two weeks before elections? - an election in which he is not even a candidate?
That's what it seems since his name - and that of a relative - has come up in another case of alleged land fraud. We posed the question to the party leader, Patrick Faber, who said that Vega is out of sight and out of mind when it comes to the UDP's business.

Patrick Faber, UDP Party Leader
"Mr.Vega is not running for this party any longer it is, we have a new candidate in Orange Walk north but it is also that he has retired from politics and is not putting his name on so, we have moved on from that, it is a party that has no connection at all with Mr. Vega at that level where anybody has to be concerned."
Vega announced his retirement from politics shortly after Faber was elected as party leader.
