And while Musa makes appeals on behalf of an ally, here at home Belizeans are making demands for land. It's a hot-button issue that's been brewing since before the general election with activists such as Nigel Petillo making cries like "no land, no vote" in an attempt to show Belizeans that becoming landowners should be their first priority.

It's a cry that Minister of Natural resources Cordel Hyde supported, but that was before he got into office. It is still left to be seen whether the Minister would stick to his guns while in office.

There has been a travelling land clinic that went to Dangriga and next is Cayo.

Yesterday, first term area rep Alex Balona he gave us time and place for the one in his town. He also shared a bit about the need for land in his own community.

Alex Balona, Area Representative, Cayo Central
"A lot of young people come in and say Mr. Balona, I don't care when but I just need a piece of land, I want to build my home so jobs and land are the biggest needs that we have seen here especially in Santa Elena."

Cherisse Halsall:
"We hear that the Minister of Natural Resources Cordel Hyde is on his way out here at some point in the next few weeks to conduct land clinics can you tell us anything about that."

Alex Balona, Area Representative, Cayo Central
"Like I said earlier over the last it has been six weeks, the biggest need is land so I have spoken with the honorable minister and he has agreed to be here this Friday at the Santa Elena sporting complex so that we can have enough space and so that we can have all the people in Cayo central those who need land and those who have never had a piece of land in their name can come and also those who have been having issues with their land documentation can come and complete the process, Friday at what time? Between 9 and 3, so we'll be right there at the Santa Elena sporting complex."
