The Senators also went at it on the discussion over a 34-million-US-dollar loan from the Caribbean Development Bank. The Government wants to use that money for Major road rehabilitation and upgrade works. This project is supposed to fund construction on 125 kilometers - or 77 miles - of the Phillip Goldson Highway and the Remate Bypass.

This morning, UDP's Michael Peyrefitte reminded the PUP Government that back when they were in Opposition, they kept insisting that Belizeans can't eat streets:

Turning quickly back to the debate on the budget, the Senate has passed the first budget bill from Prime Minister Briceno. 8 senators voted yes, 4 voted no, and 1 abstained.

The Senate Meeting ended just a few minutes ago after 10 hours and 8 minutes of proceedings.
