He tweeted a screenshot of a Facebook post from Tracey Taeger Panton. Her post claims to quote her 81-year-old grandmother which says, quote,
"I do not agree with everything that the Hon Shyne Barrow has been up to. In fact, I outright disagree with many of his recent shenanigans. But his objection to the 11 amendment is on point.
He made a mistake at the age of 19. He paid his debt to society for 9 long years. He has paid his debt in full! Since then, he has not even been accused of any infraction of the law. He has every right to serve in our House of Representatives on either the Opposition or the Government side, if the people so desire. The voice of the people...
The amendment we need is to allow anyone who has equally paid their debt in any jurisdiction and have reformed their life to have the same privilege. Redemption is real and attainable. There are many white collar criminals, they know who they are, who have never been tried and convicted., and yet they would be deemed suitable candidates by the "powers that be"
My opinion".
And to that, Lord Ashcroft says he agrees with Tracy Panton's 81-year-old grandmother.
