There seems to be another battle brewing tonight at the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Town Hall - which is the country's only split council - 5 PUP councillors to one UDP, plus the UDP Mayor.

That Mayor, Earl Trapp, along with his party leader, Patrick Faber, had planned a press conference for today in the Town Hall. However, due to a delay in Faber's flight, it was postponed until tomorrow. And the location was also changed after a scathing letter from the town's PUP councilors was sent to Trapp.

In that letter, the councilors call Trapp out on his proposition to use the town hall for his press conference, which they say should remain politically neutral. But - in a kind of "mean girl" style - they then go on to browbeat and practically blackmail the mayor by stating that if he does use the town hall, they will, quote, "not hesitate to expose your political agenda and lack of reason to proceed with caution in this case. We cannot overemphasize your lack of preparation for your press conference and you do not take into account the unpopularity you have provoked amongst social media users." End quote.

But the letter didn't stop there, because it repeats that if Trapp uses the hall, the councilors will be bound to, quote, "inform the people, not with lies but with the truth… this is not a threat but a promise. The people are on our side." End quote.

Notably, Trapp is the only UDP mayor in the entire country and one of only two UDP candidates who were elected in the last municipal elections.

The conference is now set for tomorrow at 10am at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel - and we'll have full coverage tomorrow night.
