And in other news, the PUP Cabinet members are back from their retreat, no doubt feeling refreshed and ready to get back to work. But according to the PM, that work didn't stop at all - not even for a little splash in the pool. On Sunup on 7 this morning, Briceno explained the need for getting out of the stuffy office and into the fresh air.
Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
"What we felt as a Cabinet that we needed to get out from the Cabinet room and to spend some time together as a Cabinet to have long discussions, some of the more important issues affecting us today and how we're going to move forward for the next year. You know in Cabinet you have all of these papers and then by 3, 4 in the evening people end up, you know, you need to go back to your office or go back home. So the fact that we have these long discussions and then during dinner, we could spend more time as friends and not just working colleagues and get to understand one another better, the different perspectives that we have, the perspective that we have in Orange Walk certainly is different then Belize City and a lot different in Toledo district so we felt that we need some of that time, we've been working so hard for the first year and we had success that nobody expected us to have."
