As we told you on Tuesday night, Belize City Councillor Mica Goodin resigned as Deputy Mayor - 18 hours before the council would have voted to remove him.

So, that he did it is not news - but how he did it is what's our story tonight. 7News has obtained a screenshot of his email telling the mayor that he resigned.

It's a classic - that is, if you're 14. It says simply, unapologetically: "I hereby resign" - and ends with the salutation, "Rebel Forever, Mica".

Now it doesn't say what he resigns from, or anything else really, just that he's resigned - and, of course, that he's a rebel - like, forever.

The City Council sent out a release yesterday saying that the other councillors have accepted his resignation and elected Councillor Allan Pollard to take up the Deputy's post. We asked Pollard for an interview, but when we reached him, today he said he was at the airport, heading to Rwanda with the Prime Minister who is going to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting.
