But, one area where infighting is raging on is the Cuthkelvin front - and we're talking about Troy Cuthkelvin.
At the end of May we told you how the UDP had summoned the one time party propagandist gone rogue to appear before the party's Ethics Committee to explain why his membership should not be revoked. That is after Cuthkelvin produced a number of Shyne-smear ads for social media. Well, since then, Cuthkelvin has doubled down - those ads are now airing on this newscast, under the banner of the Coalition for Unity and Reform - and they are continuing to heap scorn upon UDP Leader Shyne Barrow.
Cuthklevin was supposed to appear before the ethics committee today, but instead he sent a letter saying, quote, "I will NOT appear.
What I urge you to do, if you are truly serious about Ethics and Integrity in the UDP, is summon Mr. John Saldivar (who is currently seeking a high post in the UDP and positioning himself to run again for office) to answer to allegations made against him in writing…"
The letter continues in this define tone and ends with Cuthkelvin advising Chairman of the Committee Aldo Salazar that whenever he "moves on these matters…I will be happy to more favorably reconsider your request as being serious and sincere."
Well, Salazar fired back at him today and certainly proved he is serious. His letter informs Cuthklevin that with or without his appearance the Committee did meet today. He advises Cuthklevin, quote, "You will be advised of our determination made in your absence in writing at a later date."
