Last night the nation sat transfixed as John Saldivar held his first press conference in four years. Since then he has had scandal after scandal, accusation after accusation heaped on him - and it culminated last week when the US State Department made him the first Belizean ever to be designated as "significantly corrupt."
But, Saldivar did not recoil, or retreat in fear, in fact he has been more aggressive and engaged than ever before in frontally denying the myriad allegations against him.
This culminate din yesterday afternoon's press conference at the BIM office in Belize City - which Jules Vasquez tonight tries to put in context:
The Special Committee of the UDP to decide Saldivar's future in the party meets on December second, and is expected to deliver a decision by December ninth.
